Nude Pro Genius Treatment Oil – Review & Pictures

I have heard many good things about using oils on the face overnight. I personally have ridiculously dry skin and I just use olive oil every once in a while. The following review is about Nude’s Pro Genius oil, which I recently discovered and I really liked!

Nude Pro Genius (4)

Size

Nude’s Treatment oil comes in a pretty purple bottle with an applicator and you get 30 ml or 1 fluid ounce of the product. Its consistency is denser than that of a serum but lighter than that of oil, so you only need 2-3 drops for all of your face. The sample that I am reviewing is 5 ml or 0.16 fluid ounces and comes with a little pump, which is a great size for travelling.

Price

Nude Pro Genius Treatment oil costs a whopping $78.00 + tax if you purchase the full size bottle! I don’t know about you guys, but I have NEVER purchased a single beauty item that cost $78!

My Take on Nude Pro Genius Treatment Oil

Nude Skincare is still relatively new to the world of beauty. First launched in 2007 in Europe, it came to the US in 2008. A lot of famous people swear by it and I can kind of see why.  I have terribly dry skin which makes it impossible to cover my little acne scars. Any foundation I use just sticks to my dry patches (yes, I exfoliate every morning!) and nothing seems to work. I tried Inglot, MAC, MUFE, Chanel, Rimmel, Revlon, L’Oreal, Lakme, etc. and everything failed me. So I tried using olive oil on my face in the morning, and while there were no dry patches, my foundation was melting off of my face! I suppose that was too much moisture. That is primarily why I decided to try out this oil thingy. It really is the best consistency ever! It is rich in Omega 3, 6, 7, & 9. I must admit, I’m not sure what that really means with respect to our skin :p :) But after using it for about three weeks, I like the results.
I am addicted to this product (which is sooooo very bad). While it hasn’t changed my skin drastically, it does make it smooth and soft and un-dry every time I use it. I also love it because I can use any foundation I want as long as I use this treatment oil underneath it. In case you’re wondering, it did NOT help with my tiny acne bumps or scars. BUT it does do something no other cream allowed me to do (wear foundation), and I am so I’m grateful for it. It does seem to last a while since you only use a couple of drops for all of your face. I love what it does for my skin but I just cannot spend almost $85 (after tax) on an “oil” thingy. It just doesn’t seem right. You should really try out a sample if you can before you decide to buy it because honestly, you might not even need it. Unless you have preposterously dry skin like I do, most other serums/moisturizers will do the trick.

Here are things I LOVE about Nude Pro Genius Treatment Oil:
  • Lightweight, unlike normal oil
  • Absolutely no fragrance
  • It absorbs surprisingly fast for being an “oil” on the face
  • It is non-greasy and doesn’t leave a film on the face like oil usually does
  • It makes my dry-patchy skin completely un-patchy for up to 7 hours
  • I love how soft the skin feels after about 5 uses
Things I’m not so much in-love with about Nude Pro Genius Treatment Oil:
  • Ridiculously expensive for the quantity
  • There is no SPF at all, but then most serums and oils don’t have any either

I would rate this oil a 3.5/5. I dare say it might be the best oil/serum/moisturizer for my extremely dry skin.

Inglot Freedom System Eyeshadow Rainbow in 112R – Review & Swatches

I’m sure all of you beauties have heard/read about Inglot rainbow eyeshadows. Their range contains neutrals, bright colours, and now some Double Sparkle eyeshadows. I wanted to share with you guys my review of the Inglot rainbow eyeshadow in 112R which is a trio of rich neutral browns. If you have read my other reviews about Inglot rainbow eyeshadows, you can skip to my take/review of this particular trio :)

Where to buy

I bought these eyeshadows from Inglot’s website. I don’t have an Inglot store near me (booooo), so I have to settle for ordering online. But there are enough swatches/reviews to help people like me :) You can always try eBay and Amazon, but you’ll probably have better luck on eBay. Also, for some reason, prices are more inflated on eBay :-/

Size

The pan is a rectangle and it measures 3.6cm x 3.2 cm. I’ve always heard these pans to be referred as “square” pans but they really are rectangular pans. You get 0.09 ounces or 2.5 grams. That is a pretty good amount for the price.  The eyeshadow is labelled on the back part so that always makes my day :) Also, their expiration is 18 months, as opposed to the traditional 12 months.
For reference, below is the average price and quantity (for a single eyeshadow) by some commonly used eyeshadows:

Price and Shipping

The Inglot rainbow eyeshadows are priced at $8.00 + tax per eyeshadow pan and it is a superb price. Their prices did go up by a dollar a few months back but it is still very affordable. I love that you get three shades from the same colour family in a single pan! Their customer service is really bad (at least here in the States). If you drop them an email, you can forget about ever hearing from them. They basically just take their own sweet time and you just have to wait. It can take them anywhere from 7 to 10 business to ship your order.

My Take on Inglot Rainbow Eyeshadow in 112R

I probably own at least 30 shades of taupes/browns but I am always attracted to any brown/taupe-ey colour I see. It is probably the neutral lover inside me that freaks out about earthy colours. Browns are also the only eyeshadows I actually use up. I know no matter what the occasion, I can rely on my browns. Overall, this trio runs a tad too dark for daytime. I would suggest you use it for daytime gatherings or dates because it is too dark for office and not bright enough for evening/night time. Regardless, if you love browns, this is a must have!
Inglot rainbow eyeshadow in 112R has three neutral browns. Here’s a short description of the three colours:
1)      Colour 1: It is a gorgeous nude-taupe colour. It is very cool toned but I think it looks great regardless on warmer skin tones. It is pigmented and applies smoothly. If used alone, it would make a great everyday colour.
2)      Colour 2: This colour is a very unique chocolate brown. I do not have any other brown quite like this one. It’s also light enough to use at work. Also very pigmented and smooth but a tad bit powdery.
3)      Colour 3: This eyeshadow is a dark chocolate brown with very light red undertones to it, making it a perfect neutral dark brown. I definitely have another brown like one but it is good to have as part of the trio. This colour was also slightly powdery but it is perfectly smooth and pigmented. It is because of this colour that I think this trio is not safe for everyday work.

Here are things I LOVE about Inglot Rainbow Eyeshadow in 112R:
  • 8.00 + tax buys you THREE different hues of the same colour at 0.833 grams of colour for each colour, making it an amazing buy
  • The eyeshadows are not ashy or chalky
  • They are very pigmented and have awesome colour payoff
  • Since I depot everything, individual pans come out cheaper AND make my life easier
  • They last 10+ hours on me with a primer and about 5 hours without a primer (I have super oily lids)
  • It says matte, but I find the finish to be a buttery-satin, which is way better than just matte
Things I’m not so much in-love with about Inglot Rainbow Eyeshadow in 112R:
  • Colours 2 and 3 are a tad bit powdery but still have great colour payoff and pigmentation

Last Thoughts

My world would not be the same without brown eyeshadows and so I continue to buy browns like a compulsive idiot. But if you have similar colours, I would definitely skip this one. The middle colour is very unique but I’m sure you can find a colour close enough. But if you must have all the brown eyeshadows in the world, then you will not be disappointed. The colours look great on the eyes and you can try to pull off a brown smokey eye with this trio :p I wouldn’t wear this trio to work but that doesn’t mean you can’t. If you do buy this eyeshadow trio, you will not be disappointed :)
Peace out! <3
